All The Questions You Need To Ask Your Wedding Photographer
August 15, 2016
At some point in time, all of us have discussed how we can partner with the perfect wedding photographer. If you have narrowed down the choices to three or four options, it is time to meet all of them and go over the questions I’ve discussed in this blog.
Once you are done meeting, it is important to identify if both you and the groom feel connected to the photographer. Remember, this person will be by your side on the most special day of your life and will be capturing memorable moments for over eight hours. Therefore, you want to choose someone who really makes you feel comfortable.
First off, it is imperative to know that you are getting the best value for your money. Nothing can help you find that out as much as conducting a small background check. Here are all the questions you need to ask:
How long have you been photographing weddings? How many weddings have you photographed up till now?
Have you ever photographed a wedding with a similar style and size as ours?
Will you be checking out the venue beforehand? Have you shot an event at the same venue before?
Do you have any connections with DJs, videographers, caterers?
Can you show me your portfolio that includes some of the recent weddings you have covered?
The Wedding Date
Among the most important things you need know, the photographer’s availability for your specific wedding date is also important. Ask these questions to clear things out:
Are you available on my wedding date?
Will you be shooting my wedding? If not, can I meet the photographer who will be shooting it?
Do you have any upcoming events you need to cover in the same week?
Will you have an assistant?
How would you define your photography style? Rustic? Chic? Traditional?
What do you think sets your work apart?
Payments And Packages
If my wedding is out of town, would there be additional fees?
Do you offer customized packages?
Are my engagement photos included in the package?
When will I get the contract?
Will you be posting our photos on your blog? Social media profile?
What percentage do you need as a deposit?
In case I cancel the booking, is there a refund policy I can use?
Once you have your answers to all these questions, you will be sure if the wedding photographer works for you or not. For the best wedding photography in Los Angeles, get in touch with me today. Don’t forget to check out my wedding photography portfolio on my website.
